Esmeraldas Taco Shop

I have eaten here probably close to 10 times, if not more, and keep meaning to leave a review. This is hands down one of my FAVORITE places to eat. Their food never misses and the service is always amazing and attentive. I recommend the quesabirria tacos, pupusas, and the RICE. (I don’t know what the heck they do to this rice but I am addicted ). & the queso is thick and flavorful (not watered down like other places). We drive 25 minutes to eat here and it’s always worth it Just go, you won’t regret it.

Loved everything about it! The people were attentive and helpful. The atmosphere was clean and new. My husband and I got street tacos, my daughter got a fajita bowl, and my son got the Birria tacos. Everything was delicious. My favorite was the fajita bowl. Will be back!

As one who was recently introduced to tortas, I’ve decided to exclusively order tortas at any Mexican restaurant I go to, until I find my favorite. At Esmeralda,s taco shop, I tried a El Pastor torta. It was 13.99 and huge, but came with a generous serving of fries, unlike the other places I’ve visited. The meat was very good, I liked the texture of the bread better at Esmerelda’s, than the two other places I have visited.If anyone has any recommendations, comment on this review.

I wish I had a place like this by me back home! The food was incredible and the staff were great, I wish I had a bigger stomach to try everything.I started off with the chori queso, which I absolutely demolished; it reminded me of the amazing queso I'd get out in Dallas with my coworkers. I then got my birria tacos which were absolutely delicious, juicy, and cheesy. Lastly I got a pork and bean pupusa which reminded me a lot of the pupusaria I used to go to back home in NY. My only wish would be that the curtido (pickled cabbage) be allowed to ferment longer, but otherwise taste was great.Price wise this place is perfect, I love that they offer a la carte options.Overall I'd be here almost everyday if I lived close by. Definitely deserves and lives up to the stars it has!

Esmeralda’s Taco Shop is a gem! I had the birria tacos, and they were absolutely amazing—perfectly tender, flavorful, and satisfying. The service was friendly and welcoming, which added to the overall experience. The shop itself is clean and well-kept, making it a comfortable place to enjoy a meal. Highly recommend for anyone craving delicious tacos and great hospitality!

I adore this place and the owners of this establishment! My spouse and I were in the Maywood neighborhood fishing when we first visited. We had already spent all day in the sun and were ready to fill our bellies. Low and behold, we find Esmeralda's just across the street. The food is amazing. From the pupusas to the quesabirria tacos, all the way to the salsa! We do our best to get there when we have the time. It is a small family owned establishment and they work hard to thrive. Now just a heads up, they do not sell liquor but the have beer. But I'm telling you, the food is well worth it.

This was our 1st visit and we really enjoyed it. The restaurant was extremely clean and everything was very organized. You have to order at the register instead of your table. We ordered guacamole a.d it was some good stuff. My son had the fajita bowl and he really liked it. I had the chicken gorditas and it was delicious. The staff checked on us repeatedly. We will definitely go back.

This was our first time eating here. We were hearing positive things about it, so we had to check it out. First of all, it was very clean, and we were greeted as soon as we walked in. They have a nice menu with lots of selections. I ordered steak nachos, and I thought they were really good! It was a very large portion and was nice and hot! My husband ordered the Birra tacos, and he loved them! They came around and checked on us numerous times and answered some questions we had. Very nice people! Very attentive! And the day we went, there was a steady stream of firefighters coming in to eat. So I think the word is getting out there that this is a nice place with good food! We will definitely go back and try some different things! Go in and give them a try! It's yummy!
